Any Chocoholics out there? These 5 chocolate camping recipes should do the trick next time you have a sweet craving by the campfire. Enjoy!

Fireside Fudge



  • 1 cup Nestle Semi-Sweet chocolate chips
  • ⅔ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • ½ cup granola cereal

Combine the chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk and water in a pan. Melt over low heat, stirring constantly to avoid burning. Once the chocolate chips are melted, remove from heat. Pour the mix into an 8-inch square pan, lined with foil. Sprinkle granola over the top and let cool. Let the fudge sit and firm for about an hour and then cut into 1-inch squares.

Dutch Oven Cherry Chocolate Cake

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 16 oz can of cherry pie filling
  • 1 12 oz can of Sprite

Combine cake mix, pie filling, and Sprite in a Dutch oven. Mix until blended. Cover the Dutch oven and set over hot coals, placing a few coals on top of the lid. Let the cake cook for about 15-20 minutes.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Wraps

  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • 4 flour tortillas
  • 1 cup miniature marshmallows
  • ½ cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips

Spread 2 tablespoons of peanut butter on each tortilla. Sprinkle 1/4 cup of marshmallows and 2 tablespoons of chocolate chips on half of each tortilla. Roll up and wrap each tortilla in foil and seal tightly. Grill over low heat for 5 to 10 minutes or until heated through. Unwrap and eat.

Chocolate Fondue

  • 2 large bags semi sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup liqueur. Take your pick. I like orange

Melt ingredients over fire in small sauce pan. Stir until melted to avoid burning. Almost anything tastes good dipped in chocolate but here are a few suggestions: dried fruit, popcorn, chocolate bar (!), potato chips, pretzels, fresh fruit, marshmallows, etcetera.

Adult Hot Chocolate

Nothing tops an evening around the fire like a tasty cup of hot chocolate. Especially if it’s warmed with a dash of cayenne pepper and some tequila. That’s my kind of hot chocolate.

  • 3 tablespoons hot cocoa mix
  • 6 oz water
  • 4 oz tequila
  • ¼ oz agave nectar
  • dash of cayenne powder
  • 1 marshmallow

Combine hot cocoa and cayenne with water, and heat until warm. Add the tequila and agave nectar to a mug with the hot cocoa. Top with a marshmallow and a dash of cayenne.
